Ironically, the early eagle flights of Junction City were for the 196th to secure the AO for the one and only Airborne jump of the Vietnam War. The jump was done by the 173rd and it was kind of a cluster! Thx Ron for responding

I was a member of 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Tay Ninh province from July 1966 to April 67. I was wondering if the 71st were the choppers we used in Operation Attleboro, Cedar Falls, and Junction City? We then moved north to Chu Lai as Task Force Gimlet. Thanks guys

Steve….The Rattlers and Firebirds took part and all those operations. I was personally a part (as a crew chief) of Operation Junction City. My ship was # 3 of our lift that morning and our lead ship was shot down on the first lift.
