Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my Viet Nam brothers and sisters!!! You deserve the best and hopefully that is what you will have during the holidays and in 2004!! I heard a stat on the news the other day that really bothered me and maybe someone out there came put some light on the subject. They said that 40 percent of America's homeless are Nam veterans. If this is true, it is a national disgrace. Other countries take care of their veterans first but it seems in America the rights of the terriorist far out weigh the obligations the country has to it's veterans.Odell Suttle151st 1966-1967

just a note to thank all you vets.i am 21 and have a life thanks to all of you.my father in law served in veitnam as did several others in my family.i tried to jone the marines but could not because i was home schooled and the diploma doesn't count to the service.I just had to tell someone that went though hell that i tried but couldn't join but that i would have given anything to have had the honor of serving after such brave men.maybe then i could know that i had some worth and that the guilt of not serving and trying wouldn't be there.this is a long note i just hope that you all know how sorry i am!!!!!!!thank you again.you will not be forgotten in my family or this country if i have anything to do with it!!

Do you regularly receive e-mails from the sons or wives of deceased Angolan dictators who request help getting money from sealed "trunk boxes", from mysterious Nigerian oil company treasurers seeking assistance in embezzling funds from over-invoiced contracts, from suspicious South African bank presidents asking you to stand in as next of kin for sundry foreign nationals who died in horrible airplane crashes in Africa, from persons claiming to be refugees with access to huge amounts of cash but who supposedly need a foreigner's help to actually procure it, or from other individuals offering similar "URGENT BUSINESS PROPOSALS"? The persons sending the e-mails are criminals who engage in advance fee fraud, also known as "419" scams (referring to the numerical designation of the Nigerian penal code section dealing with advance fee fraud). They "harvest" e-mail addresses of potential victims from guestbooks such as this one. When one particular 419 group/syndicate "claims" a guestbook for itself, a member of said group/syndicate will post nonsensical gibberish on said messageboard, often including the words and phrases "i dey," "i don dey," "owerri," "igbo," "mugu," "maga," "mgbada," "kenny," "guyman"/"guymen," "guy man," "muguguy," "guy men," "lome," "lagos," "agu," "i don land," "keep off," "oooooooooo," "000000000000," etc. (They frequently mention the name of an African country, such as Nigeria or Togo, in their comments as well.) They do this as a way of warning other scamming groups to not interfere with "their" prey. The deceptive ploys, gimmicks, and stories the 419 scammers employ in their villainous enterprises are extremely numerous and varied. Most often, though, the scammers are located in an African country (often in the western part of the continent, and especially Nigeria); however, such scammers have also been known to operate in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, islands in the Atlantic and Pacific, and the Americas. For more information on 419 scams, some informative web sites are http://home.rica.net/alphae/419coal/ and http://www.quatloos.com/advanced_fee_fraud.htm and http://www.secretservice.gov/alert419.shtml and http://www.scamorama.com .

Greetings to all members. Trying to find out if RJ Williams is the same "RJ" I met, partied with, did door gunner duty with "He did me the favor to qualify a marine from across the field", and lastly the same "RJ" who was from Vineland NJ. I am Jim Morgan S/Sgt, USMC, Weather Dude, Chu Lai RSVN, Feb-June 1967. Appreciate a pass along and response. I have photos of gun ships and terrain of the several missions I was honored to fly "right door" including the time we took a round in the tranie and were stranded in a field 25-30 clicks south of Chu Lai. Regards Jim Morgan "Semper Fi" Hoo Wa.

Just received my challenge coin and it is beautiful. The quality of the workmanship rivals coins I have bought for much more. I have already had several offers to purchase my coin but I explain that it is only for association members. Thanks again.Ron

Just looking for information on my father-in-law Audley Marshall Tate, JR., SFC (Ret.) He recently passed away and I found one of your newsletters in his possesions. I know he was in country twice and once was with the "Blackhawks". If any one knows which unit and what year he was there, please send me the info. Thanks,Sid
