As a Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant with Marine Air Group 13 I rode as a "Sunday Gunner" with a unit known as "The Rattlers" when they were located out past the Chulai bomb dump. Eventually I was invited into The Scorpions, a gunship outfit who were later to become The Warlords. I continued to ride with The War Lords 'til my commanding general found out about it. I considered it an honor to be accepted by these men and have listed myself as a former unit member. I hope it offends no one.Ray Scribner1st Lt USMCRetired

I wasn't an aviator but I served under COL Johnny Hitt when he commanded a recruiting brigade. I left the Army during the post Cold War downsizing and just wanted to thank COL Hitt for his good advice to me at that time. He told me to go into construction, which is what I did. That was 9 years ago -- now I own 2 successful construction companies, Chris Webb Homes and C&M Construction, my wife is happy and my kids are turning out great. I think often of how hard it was to leave the Army and how great a leader I had to sit down with me over a beer and simply tell me the truth. Thank you, Sir. I hope for you the very best.Captain Buck WebbHouston West Recruiting CompanyCommanding 1992 to 1993Chris WebbCertified Master BuilderPresidentChris Webb Homes and C&M Construction145 NW Hillery St.Burleson, TX 76028(Burleson is just south of Ft Worth)

Excellent site, well organized. Thanks for the good work in Nam, and after.I host a website for the 145th Combat Aviation Battalion Association. You can link to it from my home page http://www.brianwizard.com. I have a trilogy depicting my combat experience, and what it was like to live with it for the next 30 years. Some of you having a problem with combat stress and the ensuing fight with the VA might find it interesting. I also have a video composed of actual combat scenes shot from the door of Pollution IV, the 118th AHC smokeship, of which I was a gunner. On my site I offer, FOR FREE a music video, also composed of actual combat footage, and a short story about my return to Viet Nam in 1999, for free.I have put a condensed version of my Viet Nam novel on my site as an e-book for cheap, $3. The 145th CABA website has a lot of history, situation reports, etc. on it, and of course, a guest book. Thanks again from being there then, and being here now.Cheers, Brian Wizard

As a WO, I Flew in the little seven man Aviation Section of the 196th LIB. Shared the AO with you guys. Knew many of you (including Cotton). We flew every action the 196th was involved in. Swa you guys at your best almost every day. Some day I am going to attend one of your reunions and swap tales and maps and pictures. We had three UH-1s and four OH-23s. It was spooky flying solo in the Raven out over indian country. More than once it was nice seeing a Rattler or a Firebird in the neighborhood. I flew a lot of sniffer missions in the UH-1s with Firebirds for cover.

As awful as it was, I would have fought proudly in the Vietnam war as a helicopter pilot. I honor and respect all who spent any time there... God speed...
