Hello Rattlers & Firebirds, I was with the 196th LIB D 4/31. I would like to thank you for the fine job you did on the morning of Jan 4th 1968 about 03-0400 hrs and the tenacity and bravery you showed by your dust-off and fire support of our unit. I was on the last chopper out before daylight and I still cannot figure out how you guys came in to get the wounded and kia out. A heart felt THANK YOU to all you guys. I also would like to find a doorgunner by the name of Bobby McMillian form Tennessee, I last saw him on an LZ in Nov of 67, please forward any info.

Hey fellow Rattlers, I was contacted earlier to day by family members of one of our fallen men...WO John Sherin who was KIA in October of '68. WO Sherin as many of you know was Canadian who volunteered to be in a place he really didn't have to go. Anyway, the family has told me they are having a 10th year anniversary to honor the fallen Vietnam Veteran Canadian brothers in Ontario this July. If anyone remembers John, please forward any information that could help with this healing process...what you may think as trival information could mean a lot to a family seeking some kind of solace. Please forward any information to...Hal Laffin at laffin@scsinternet.com Thanks guys......

Trying to help a vet with a claim. Does anyone recall a mortar/rocket attack on or about 30 NOV 1970? He was with A Co, 501 Avn. Bn., 71st Hellicopter Assault Co, Chu Lai. The attack hit the dispensary. Any leads would help.

I am looking for more detail about what we did there. I was a door gunner from the 65th engineers out of Hawaii. From Oct64 to Jan 65. I flew with the CO most of the time. I don't know what the missions were, but I remember going to the sugar cane factory picking up a stock pile of captured enemy rice. Also the flight that left before the Bob Hope show was over,I missed it,Norris took my place. Some of the others that were with me;Sgt Kitchen,Jesus Vidal, Johnny Johnstone,Jesse Curb,Norris,Coulson. Thanks for any help
