Hello members of the 71st AHC. I was a medic assigned to the 534th Med Det, attached to the 14th CAB at Chu Lai in 1970. I would like to share a heart warming experience that happened on 7 Feb 2005. Association members Doug Womack and Danny Conn contacted me after seeing my message left on the Wall, in memory of Kenneth Robertson. He was killed at the 14th CAB dispensary, along with 6 other medics in Chu Lai, 30 Nov 1970, in a rocket attack. I was working in the dispensary when the rockets hit. Doug and Danny were there also. We shared our thoughts concerning the rocket attack and some of our in country experiences. It turned out that I treated Danny for an ailment on the day of the rocket attack. I would like to thank both of them for taking time to contact me. It is very nice to know that after 35 years they still care.

LINDA GREEN - You did not put your email address with your message below for anyone to respond. Your brother died about 6 weeks before I arrived in-country.

WELCOME HOME! First off I want to thank all of the members of the Rattlers and Firebirds for you service and dedication to the rest of us the served in the Americal Division. I was in Echo Co, 1/46th, 196th LIB. from Oct 69 to Nov 70. I got this web address from a former member of your unit and I have to say, it is great. Now I am going to ask for some help. I am working on our reunion and I am putting together a map of I Corp and I am trying to find aerial photos of the firebases, and of the Chu Lai area. I found several of the bases in your photo pages, however most of them become really distorted when I attempt to print them I am looking primarily for bases used by the 1/46th, but would welcome any and all pictures of the bases noted on the first map in your web site. I will pay for any shipping or coping that might have to be done. If anyone out there can help me out I would appreciate it. You can either email me or call, 231.876.0468.

Finally, after reading some after action reports I know now it was Dustoff 55 and Dustoff 58 that brought the wounded and kia out of Hiep Duc Valley on the 4th of Jan. 1968 between 0418 and 0456 hours. I was on the last chopper out with our C.O. who lost his eye that morning was and it Dustoff 55 that brought us out. Again, a heart felt THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
