What a great Reunion, Again!! Thanks Ron Seabolt, Vic Bandini, and Chuck Carlock who works behind the scenes but without who we would not have the helicopters, displays and many, many other things. And thanks to all of you who come and care about who we were and who we are now. God has been good to us all and I thank Him daily for each of you! See you in Denver!! Blessings, Whiz

Returning from San Antonio, Janet and I talked about the Rattler-Firebirds and the reunion.Every unit commander tells his men/women that 'This is the best unit in the Army'. We all know that is not always true. However, A/501st//71st Reunions are attended by men who have been in many units whether they were drafted for two years in the service of their country or retired after having served in many units. To a man, all say Rattlers-Firebirds were the best unit in which they served. One of the reasons could be that when you walked into the orderly room the first day, you were an active member of the unit. It could be because we had above average commanders through the Vietnam War. It could be that the aircrew members were just a little on the crazy side, the maintenance people were dedicated, or many other reasons. Whatever it was that made the unit good then continues through to today with the efforts of Ron Seabolt, Chuck Carlock and many others. I would like to thank the directors for their time, expertise and effort in making each reunion better than the previous ones. It is good to see comrades of many years ago, its a relaxing experiece and I cannot understand why many of our members do not care to attend a reunion. Again, our thanks to the staff as well as all who attended. For us, again it was a great weekend.

Thanks to all for a most memorable event. This was my first reunion, and I will remember it always. The guidance of Ron and his team provided us with a smooth and happy occasion. I especially appreciate the warm welcome from my 1964-1965 group. I am looking forward to 2008.

Almost 40 years ago I shed many tears. Tears of sorrow, tears of anger, tears of anguish. This past weekend for three days I shed more tears. But these were tears of joy, tears of love, tears of healing. Thank you for helping me find my brother again ... in all of you.
