Hello, visiting your site has been very helpful and interesting for me. I will be leaving to go to Vietnam in a few days as a tourist and plan on visiting Chu Lai airbase (the remains of it) and the area around, possibly the area around Kham Duc, so that I can see some of the areas my dad was in. My dad is Gordon Parr, he was a Rattler (2nd platoon) door gunner-then crew chief, based at Chu Lai from Nov 69 to Oct 70. I also read the book "Rattler One-Seven" by Chuck Gross. All of this info has given me a good insight into the area and has filled in a lot of gaps where my dad can't remember. I also may be attending your next reunion with my dad.

My brother, Terry Nordby, was in Nam in 1970. I would love to here from anyone who served with him. He was killed in an auto accident in 1974 in California. He was headed home, but stayed for a few days in California to spend time with some of his buddies. If any of you remember my brother, I'd love to hear from you.

Hello, my father Jimmy D Pruitt was in Vietnam 66/67 B Btry, 2/20th Artilley 1st Cav Div {AM}.He passed on in 1993,PTSD & Alcoholism got the worst of him and he - committed suicide. In the last 8 months- ive finally have had the guts, and will power if ya will, to study the Vietnam war, and get a "Sons" perspective of "Why".....well, i see why, and a good part of me can no longer blame him. i have a "group" on face book called "Sons and Daughters of Vietnam Vets, we share pictures of our fathers, and thoughts. Ironicly, im reading a book by "Chuck- Carlock, "Firebirds" is the book name,- do not see him listed on any of your - Rosters, could a member of this great site explain why? Chuck or Cahrles Carlock....great book, very detailed, &- gives me a prospective of Aerial combat....Welcome Home Soldiers, i honor you all for your commitment you all had to help a poor, broken, and scared country you all call Vietnam....Mike

Just viewed your internet video 'Chu Lai.' Very interesting to see from another unit's perspective. Although I was not at Chu Lai, many of my fellow Blue Ghosts served out of there. You guys are still great!
