Acft hit by enemy fire on to from LZ CC reported acft on fire. Landed extinguished fire. Bullet holes in fuel cell, eng compt, TR and TR gear box torn off.

Accident Summary:
After departing a pinnacle pick up zone, the aircraft lost RPM and lift crashing into an artillery position at the bottom of the hill. Exploding ammunition and fire destroyed the aircraft. Density altitude was a contributing factor.
